The SEPnet Summer Bursary scheme allows students to gain new skills and insights into the industry . There are 30 bursaries of £1360 (£170 per week) available, so it's an invaluable way for physics undergraduates to gain work experience over the summer holiday period in either a commercial company or research institution.

A wide range of companies are offering placements this summer in a variety of physics disciplines. Last year's students enjoyed placements at partners including QinetiQ, the National Physical Laboratory, Symetrica, the Culham Centre for Fusion Technology and Xyratex. The scheme is available to Level 1 and 2 Surrey students in the BSc/MSc physics programmes.

Thirty placements will be advertised on the SEPnet website from 16th February 2011, including full details of how to submit your CV and a covering letter.
