Full MSc Studentships in Radiation Detection and Instrumentation

Applications are currently open for full studentships of £9k per year, plus tuition fees, for the MSc in Radiation Detection and Instrumentation.

The Radiation Detection and Instrumentation (RDI) MSc provides training in the use of radiation detectors, nuclear instrumentation techniques and Monte Carlo modelling, and their application across a range of fields including nuclear decommissioning, dosimetry, particle physics, astronomy and homeland security. The RDI MSc is also suitable for students preparing for a PhD or research study in particle physics or astronomy.

Modes of study include:
Full time (1 year): 9 months of taught courses and a 3 month research project
Part-time (2 years) taught as 1 day per week
A 2 year European-compatible (120 ECTS) MSc, with a 12 month research project

The department is offering full MSc studentships of £9k per year, plus tuition fees for suitably qualified full-time UK/EU applicants, for September 2011 entry. The studentships are provided by the South East Physics Network (SEPnet).
