Student's Final Year Project Work Published in Scientific Journal

Recent Surrey Physics graduate, Brian Fraser, is a co-author on a publication in an international scientific journal.
In Brian's Final Year Project, which contributed to his BSc degree, he used the optical technique of ellipsometry to study the deposition of alternating films of silica nanoparticles and polymers. The results of Brian's project were included in a recently-published article in Langmuir, which is a publication of the American Chemical Society. Brian used the laboratory of Surrey's Soft Matter Physics Group in his project in collaboration with researchers at the University of Reading. The research has potential applications in pharmaceutical systems for the delivery of drugs.
