Research Interests

- Theory of Semiconductor Quantum Dots
- Theory of Auger recombination
- Modelling of semiconductor lasers

Some details:

Self-Organised Quantum dots are potential pockets (wells), where the charge carriers (electron and holes) can be localized. The energy states of these localised states are discrete and the quantum dots can therefore be considered as artificial atoms whose properties may be controlled at least in principle. The aim of the research is to develop a theory of the energy levels of these quantum dots or, in other words, the theory of their ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE.
