Despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s prediction that the November 2012 Palestinian bid to achieve the status of non-member state at the United Nations would destabilise the region, there has been little to see in terms of consequences or effects of the Palestinian bid to become the 194th state, albeit with no voting rights. In this Round Table, the panel assess the internal and external politics that shape the prospects of Palestinian statehood, and assess future directions for peace in the region.
PANELISTS:
Professor Bassem Ezbidi, Birzeit University
Ina’am R. Al Obaidi, Birzeit University
Professor Mkhaimar Abusada, Al-Azhar University, Gaza
