All schools attending are entitled to a free teacher place. A limited number of free places are available to eligible state schools funded by The European Atlantic Movement. 

This 6th Form Conference will provide students with an opportunity to examine the issue of intervention and to gain important insights into life at University and is suitable for 6th Form students and able KS4 students.

The conference will feature a series of key note presentations, seminars and student role plays, which will serve to equip students with the tools to debate and engage with competing views in an academic setting. Schools will be asked to submit a poster to the conference and a prize-giving will take place. 

Professor Sir Mike Aaronson, Co-Director of the Centre for International Intervention, will give the plenary lecture.  

A number of free places are available to eligible state schools funded by The European Atlantic Movement. All schools attending are entitled to a free teacher place.

2012 Surrey Politics Poster Competition

Each school, college or student attending the Conference will be asked to submit a poster to our poster competition.

The poster should relate to the title of the conference “Have we Learnt the Lessons from Afghanistan?” or the broader theme of intervention.

It is left to the discretion of the school or college whether one poster is submitted on their behalf or if students attending submit posters individually. Up to a maximum of one poster may be submitted per student, these should be A3 sized or suitable for printing in A3 if submitted by email. All posters will be displayed at the Conference. After the competition all entries can be taken back to the school or college which submitted them.

The posters will be judged by the Head of the School of Politics and the winning entry will be presented with their certificate and prize at the conference.
