Marathon effort by Surrey duo

Friday 8 May 2009

Drs. Jason Abbot and Roberta Guerrina from the University's Politics Department recently took part in the London Marathon to raise money for charity.

Both crossed the finish line in four hours 41 minutes and four hours and 55 minutes, respectively.

Jason ran in aid of the Canon Collins Trust, the charity that provides opportunities for people to develop their potential through improved skills and knowledge to achieve transformation in southern Africa.

Roberta raised money for Tommys which funds research and provides information on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

All donations, however small, would be gratefully received. For further information please contact j.abbott@surrey.ac.uk or r.guerrina@surrey.ac.uk

Well done to both!
