Professor Olssen receives ‘Academician’ award from the Academy of Social Sciences

Mark Olssen, Professor of Political Theory and Education in the Department of Politics, has been honoured by the Academy of Social Sciences with the prestigious title of ‘Academician’.

The Academician award is conferred onto individuals who have made a distinguished contribution to the social sciences.

There are over 700 recognised Academicians working in the UK, around three quarters of whom are doing so in Higher Education Institutions.

Prof. Snowden, Surrey Vice-Chancellor congratulated Prof. Olssen on his achievement, saying: 'An award of this nature is a great achievement and a fitting tribute for many years of hard work and dedication.'
