Biography

Stavroula Chrona is a PhD candidate in Political Psychology and International Politics and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Politics, University of Surrey. She is currently working on her PhD thesis titled Affective, Cognitive and Motivational Determinants of Turkish Public Opinion: an in- depth analysis of citizens’ political considerations. She obtained an MA in International and European Politics at the Department of Politics of the University of Surrey in August 2009, and a BA in Modern History at the School of Philosophy of the University of Crete in April 2006.

Research Interests

Her main area of interest focuses on public opinion, the role of political ideology in citizens’ opinion formation, political reasoning and decision making, political knowledge and sophistication as well as the role of affect and emotions in political attitudes and behaviour.
