There are almost 150 doctoral researchers within the two Engineering divisions at Surrey with both traditional PhDs and Engineering Doctorates being offered. 

Surrey was one of the first universities to pioneer the Engineering Doctorate and its approach has been described as an ‘exemplar’ by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. There are currently two Engineering Doctorate Centre’s based within Engineering at Surrey.

Entry Requirements

PhD: Students are initially registered for a PhD with probationary status and, subject to satisfactory progress, subsequently confirmed as having PhD status.

English language requirements

IELTS minimum overall: 6.5

Funding
