Sport

You want to be part of a university that encourages physical wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle. We want you to have the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of exercise, fitness, dance and sport whilst you study with us.

Becoming the University for Sport

Sport is a defining part of many students’ university experience, whether for fun, fitness or fierce competition.

We have a bold vision for sport at Surrey, and the University is becoming a centre for world-class sporting activity.

Surrey Sports Park has set a new benchmark for the quality of university sports facilities in the UK and beyond. There has never been a better time to get involved in sport at the University of Surrey, and we want you to be a part of it.

Team Surrey

Team Surrey represents a partnership between Surrey Sports Park and the University Students’ Union.

Team Surrey aspires to create a world-class sporting environment for all students at the University. Play competitively in British University and College Sport (BUCS) leagues, compete nationally and train every week with your fellow teammates.

Be a part of Team Surrey

Team Surrey offers 41 sports clubs for you to join, and whether you’re a complete beginner or an established player, you’ll be welcomed into the Team Surrey community.

The Annual Varsity: Team Surrey v Kingston

The Annual Varsity is the biggest event in the Surrey sporting calendar. Every spring the University of Surrey takes on Kingston University in a host of team sports, with the overall winner taking the bragging rights over the  neighbouring university until the following year.

Surrey Sports Park

Surrey Sports Park is one of Europe’s leading sports venues and the home of Team Surrey.

Featuring world-class facilities and host to a number of professional teams, athletes and sporting events, if you’re into your sport, the multi-million-pound centre will soon be a place you’ll grow to love.

Student membership

Student membership is your passport to an active lifestyle at the University. As a student, you will benefit from discounted membership of Surrey Sports Park, giving you access to facilities, classes and activities, and the opportunity to join sports clubs and represent Team Surrey.
