Biography

My research interests include the psychological health and the relapse and recovery of substance misusing offenders who are mainly in community based rehabilitation programmes such as the Drug Interventions Programme, the Prolific and Other Priority Offender Programme and the Integrated Offender Management Programme. This would include offenders who commit acquisitive type crimes and have primarily Class A addiction issues. I am particularly interested in psychological health issues in offenders.  My research interests stem from my time working at the Home Office where I helped to create and implement the Drug Interventions Programme.  I also worked on the Prolific and Other Priority Offender Programme too. Further information on these programmes can be found at: http://www.drugs.gov.uk

The overall aim of my research is essentially to improve the services and support available to help substance misusers in their journey of recovery.
