Dissertation Module

The Department offers over 30 taught masters level modules. All of these are 'core' modules for at least one of the named degree paths. Students taking the MSc courses (with the exception of the MSc in Health Psychology) will have at least one optional module that they can select from the list below. All modules have two assessments; usually a piece of course work and a test or a short project report. A small number of the modules have restricted access to them as part of the requirements for BPS Accreditation. These are listed at the foot of the table above.

The Department of Psychology reserves the right not to run individual modules if there is insufficient demand. The course content may be subject to change and will be discussed at the beginning of each course.

With the agreement of the Course Director, 45 credits may be taken from the final year options of the Undergraduate Programme, each course of which is worth 30 credits. In some cases it may be possible to take half a course (15 credits).

The courses are:

  • Cognitive Processes
  • Child Developmental Psychology
  • Environmental Psychology
  • Health and Clinical Psychology
  • Neuropsychology
  • Occupational Psychology
  • Psychology and Education
  • Psychometrics
  • Social Psychology
