The University of Surrey is an international university and is one of the UK’s leading research institutions with a strong enterprising spirit.

Research at Surrey is bringing direct benefits to many spheres of life: helping industry to maintain its competitive edge and creating improvements in the arts, human sciences, engineering, science, management and law. The University has a keen awareness of the needs of business, industry and the professions.

Surrey plays a strong regional role in the prosperous South East of England, and also owns and runs the Surrey Research Park, which provides facilities for 125 companies employing a further 2,500 staff.

The University’s origins can be traced back to 1894, with a commitment to first rate academic activity and to real world solutions. Today, we still remain true to those goals and have an ambitious strategic agenda, articulated through the following six strategic imperatives:

  • Quality
  • International Impact
  • Distinctiveness
  • Collegiality
  • Professionalism
  • Sustainability

The University is already benefiting from a recently remodelled structure of four Faculties enabling more responsive and effective support and management, and encouraging increased cross-disciplinary academic and research collaboration. The Faculties and information on there research can be found at:
