University of Surrey Fellowships Strategy

With the major sponsors introducing measures to deal with demand management, responsibility for monitoring the quality of applications is being placed back on to the HEIs. In response to these demands, the University has put in place a University of Surrey Fellowship Strategy.  The Strategy has been initiated at the DVC Research and Innovation’s request.

Research and Enterprise Support (RES) will be coordinating the internal bid review process which will apply to a number of fellowship schemes run by the UK Research Councils and other major Sponsors (see the “what schemes are covered” section below for details).  All applications submitted by the University for these schemes will go through an internal panel review process where initial proposals will be assessed by a panel of highly experienced academic staff. Only the highest calibre applications will go on to be formally submitted to the schemes.

Internal deadlines have been set for requesting costings for your bid via Research Finance, and the submission of your application to RES in order to be reviewed at the Internal Panel Meetings
