About Us
Welcome to The Surrey Business School.
The School (previously known as the School of Management) was formed in April 2002 from the merger of three smaller entities within the University of Surrey.
- The School of Management Studies for the Service Sector
- The Surrey European Management School (SeMS)
- The Management Development division of the School of Education
The School as it exists now is a “full service” research and teaching institution, boasting over 100 academic staff, providing degree education to almost 3,000 students from undergraduate level through to a PhD and DBA.
We received AACSB accreditation in 2005 and AMBA accreditation in 2006. We offer students different modes of study from full-time to executive part-time and provide several programmes through international distance learning centres. The School is also deeply engaged in the Surrey International Institute, a joint venture with Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, located in Dalian, China.
The School is part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
Our teaching facilities are divided between dedicated teaching blocks on campus and within the Business School building itself. The modern building offers seven seminar rooms, with seating capacities of up to 60, containing in-built audio visual equipment as standard. In addition to these, the building’s largest teaching venue is the Management Lecture Theatre, which seating over 400 is amongst the best equipped on the University campus. In addition to a teaching space it is frequently used for high profile events hosted by the University and outside agencies.
