In association with the Chartered Management Institute, this interactive session with Tom Hadley will focus on a range of relevant issues, including:
- What is currently happening in the UK employment market and what can we expect to see over the coming year?
- What’s the outlook for the public sector? What other sectors are likely to grow?
- What skills and expertise will businesses be looking for, and how will they bring them in?
- The longer-term outlook - what will the world of work look like in 2020?
- What will changes to the world of work mean for the way managers and consultants operate and actively market themselves?
- What will managers and consultants need to do to make sure they are always employable and in demand?
Tom Hadley is Director of Policy and Professional Services at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). His role focuses on lobbying key Government and EU officials on a range of employment and labour market issues. The work also involves highlighting REC initiatives to promote industry standards, including enforcement of a Code of Professional Practice, audit schemes and the launched Diversity Pledge.
Before joining the REC, Tom Hadley spent six years at the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and previously worked for the London-based recruitment and economic development consultancy MBA Training Research & Development. Previous roles included a traineeship within the European Commission and work within the in-house legal department of the French multi-national Vivendi.
