British Academy of Management elects Surrey academics

Tuesday 18 October 2011

Dr Julie Gore and Professor Mark Saunders, from the Surrey Business School at the University of Surrey, have both been elected to the council of the British Academy of Management.

The elections, which took place over the summer, saw more than twenty candidates facing the vote of Academy members for just five positions on the governing body. Both Mark and Julie won their nominations for their commitment to furthering the quality of research methods in business management and developing the next generation of innovative researchers.

Julie, a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, is a senior lecturer in Organisational Behaviour in the Surrey Business School.

Mark is a Professor in business research methods and internationally recognised as an expert in this field. He is also author of one of the top-selling student texts on the subject.

The British Academy of Management represents the community of management academics and plays a central role in developing relationships with government and research councils. Producing two successful academic journals, an annual conference and a range of training and development events the Academy supports the development of academics worldwide.

As members of the BAM Council Mark and Julie will be facilitating the work of the Academy for the next three years.
