Best Research Award for SME Study
Thursday 9 August 2012

Innovative research from Surrey Business School academics has won an award at the 2nd International Conference of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE2012) in Singapore. The award for Best Research went to Professor David Gray and Harshita Goregaokar who, along with Professor Mark Saunders, have been looking into the triggers for success for SME’s.
The research has been commissioned by Kingston Smith, one of the UK's top 20 audit and chartered accountancy firms, and this paper looked at some of the early results and the research methodology.
The project came about after Kingston Smith were introduced to the academics by Surrey Enterprise, a company run by University of Surrey student entrepreneurs. The hope is the results will prove invaluable to enterprises that want to ensure they thrive through the vital first five years of business.
The full results from the study will be released this autumn at an event hosted by Kingston Smith at Central Working on the Google Campus in London.
