Dr Dimitrios Gounopoulos delivers speech to the Amsterdam Stock Exchange

Dr Dimitrios Gounopoulos from the School of Management was invited by the oldest stock exchange in the World, Amsterdam S.E. to deliver a speech on Initial Public Offerings (IPOs). Dr Gounopoulos' speech covered the international flow of IPOs, the potential benefits of listing in NYSE Euronext and the story of the United East India Company (VOC) - in 1602, the first IPO ever registered. The speech was well attended by senior bankers, market makers, members of the Dutch Chambers of Commerce and businesses.
Prior to the presentation Cees Vermaas, Chairman of Euronext Amsterdam NV offered an award to Dr Gounopoulos for his contribution in the area of IPOs, while Duco Wildeboer, Director of IPOs Division administered the Gong Ceremony - which gave Dr Gounopoulos the opportunity to open the operations of Amsterdam Stock Exchange on Friday the 27th of May 2011. After the presentation a buffet lunch took place in the luxurious and historical premises of NYSE - Euronext in the heart of Amsterdam, where the presenter had the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the finer points of the speech with the distinguished members of the audience.
