Biography

Dr Frens Kroeger is a Lecturer (= U.S.: Assistant Professor) in Organisation Studies at Surrey Business School, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Trust Research (CTR). Frens received his PhD from Cambridge University in July 2011. His first publication in a highly ranked (3*) journal was published in November 2011, with further papers currently in preparation / under review. Frens has taught both at sociology departments and business schools in England, Germany and Switzerland.

Research Interests

Frens's research interests revolve around the issue of trust within and between organisations, a topic which he approaches from a strongly conceptual, sociologically informed, and broadly neo-institutionalist perspective. Reflecting this core interest, Frens is a founding member of the Centre for Trust Research (CTR), based at Surrey Business School. His next larger research project is planned to address the creation and collapse of system trust within the financial industries, particularly in investment banking.
