Biography
I graduated in economics and law; and after initially starting post graduate research – committed to obtaining the Solicitors qualification. I worked in general practice – but developed an interest in employment an industrial law. I subsequently moved from private practice to the pubic sector and was particularly associated with developing local authority practices in relation to planning control.
I then elected to change career and moved into lecturing. I held a number of lecturing posts – specializing in law for over ten years. During this period I continued my academic research and obtaining EU specialist qualifications.
I have continued to combine my academic and consultancy interests. I started working with Surrey in 1999 and have made continuing contribution to a number of post and undergraduate programs and travelled overseas delivering these and supporting students. I have also worked with the Civil service in designing and delivering specialist law courses – for example to the senior civil servants. Most recently I have been involved in an EU project designed to ‘professionalize EU HR staff.
