Biography

Dr. YingFei Héliot is Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour. She has previously held ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and was a Research Fellow in Organisational Behaviour and Research Methods within the School of Management at University of Surrey. She completed her MBA and PhD at University of Surrey. Her wide variety of experiences derived not only from academia but also from industry: voluntary work with non-governmental organisations in Africa and Europe, head of sales and marketing in Asia, and business consultant in the UK.

She uses both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Her works are published in management journals including International Journal of Management Reviews and Journal of Management Organization.

Research Interests

Dr Héliot's main research interests focus in the area of knowledge and identity from a psychological perspective, in particular:
• The valuation of knowledge within knowledge transfer process
• Individuals willingness to disclose knowledge
• The cognitive structure of professional identity and its behavioural implications

Research Collaborations

The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET): research project on 'transference of knowledge' which sets out to understand the professional engineers' willingness to disclose, exchange and share their knowledge.
