Business History in the UK Research Assessment Exercise (2010)
This is a collaborative project that aims at developing a new method of journal ranking. It explores network analysis techniques applied to journal Ego-networks. We have mapped the network relations between the journal of Business History and all other directly associated journals that represent the Business History academic field.
Academic Journal Categorization: Business and Management Studies in the UK (2010)
The Surrey Business School has funded a research project undertaken by BCNED research group to look into the disciplinary and cross-disciplinary evolution of business and management knowledge measured through the RAE 2008. For the purpose of this project we have developed a unique and comprehensive database of all registered outputs combining journal articles from Unit of Assessment 36, with Units of Assessment 34 and 35, and a selection of applied business and management journal articles submitted across 13 other independent Units of Assessment.
Mapping Techniques - Competition Entry for “Science Maps for Scholars” (2010)
These maps were produced as part of the competition entry for the 6th Iteration of ‘Places and Spaces: Mapping Science’, which was dedicated to "Science Maps for Scholars" (2010). We developed 2-D and 3-D representations of the Health Technology and Life Science Cluster in the Greater South East, UK. Our maps contain conceptual mapping of value-chains, representations of 2-mode networks, and the use of advanced methods for mapping of relational data in a geographic space.
The Compliance Project (2010)
An analysis of a database with over 10,000 anonymous prescription records shows that the interventions by the Message Dynamics Patient Messaging Service significantly improved patient compliance.

Centers of Excellence in the Greater South East (2008-2009)
Centers of Excellence in Research in the Greater South East of England (GSE) is a database that includes all recipients of research funding in the region that have developed research capabilities in specific biotechnology, medical and health technology research. The report on the Centers of Excellence is included in the report for mapping of the Health Technology sector in the region.
A report with the results from the analysis of this data can be found in the main report on the Health Technology Cluster in the Greater South East (2008).

The Health Technology Cluster in the Greater South East (2008)
GSE (Greater South East) is a region in the UK with over 4700 core health technology companies generating revenues of almost £100 billion p.a. and activities that spread from bio-technology R&D, and drug-development, to bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing, surgical and medical devices, telecare, diagnostics and medical research.

Blog Analysis of European Healthcare & European Pharmaceuticals (2008)
This blog analysis, sponsored by Pfizer, revealed that the interactive public space for information retrieval via blogs and web2 technology is rapidly growing. However, the relationships between URL-pages in the blog-space are still very rare and emerging.

Regional Economic Development in Barbados (2008)
The research on the structure of the economy in Barbados revealed a vibrant pool of firms with specialisation in professional services, ICT, specialised trading services, international finance and insurance services, tourism services, public services, and a strong construction sector.
GROW-Health (2006-2007)
An EU-supported project completed in collaboration with the Emilia Romagna region in Italy and the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA) in the UK provided the foundation for a greater understanding of the Health Technology sector, its supply chain in both regions, and to identify possible areas of complementarity and synergies.

Business Clusters in the Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing Sector in the Zhe Jiang Province in China (2005)
This research project aimed to enhance our current knowledge on industrial clusters and business networks in China from a comparative perspective and included an empirical investigation of the network relationships and operations by the Chint and the Delixi Business Groups in the Zhe Jiang Province in China.
The Structure of the Regional Economy in the South East of England (2006)
A new multi-stage cluster methodology revealed that there are 31 industrial clusters active in the South East of England and among them are: Investment and Business Data Services, Computer Services, Business and Management Services, Chemical and Allied Products, Aircraft & Space Vehicles, Trucking & Warehousing, Transportation Services, Automotive Trade, and Marine Technologies and Transportation.

Industrial Clusters in the Global Information Sector (2004-2006)
The combination of diversification and convergence in the media, telecommunications and the information and the ICT sectors has created a number of industry segments with specific portfolio of complementary activities. The competitive forces in each segment determine different range of opportunities for growth.
