Aspiration Raising Programmes

We offer activities from Year 8 up to and including Year 13. These activities range from helping young people to understand what life and study is like at university to more specific activities on career options, selecting and applying to universities and how to cope once they arrive.

Each session will be supported by current undergraduates as well as staff members so that students have the opportunity to ask lots of questions and get a clear understanding of what university is really like.

Who is the programme aimed at?

The programme is aimed at students who have the potential to succeed in higher education but are from currently under-represented groups. It also supports students from families with little or no experience of higher education or those needing additional support and guidance. As far as possible, we would ask that such students are given priority when choosing who should attend.For those school and college groups who are eligible for widening participation or Aimhigher subsidies, all sessions are free, including lunch.

Places will be allocated to schools on a first come, first served basis so we would advise you to contact us as soon as possible if you would like your school or college to participate.
Other aspiration raising activities for schools and colleges

In addition to this programme we offer a series of lectures, taster sessions and subject based activity for those students who require extended learning opportunities.
