Many of us will take sleep for granted but there are also many people who struggle with their sleep.

Understanding the mechanisms and functions of sleep as well as the cause and consequences of sleep disorders requires multidisciplinary approaches. Psychologists, physiologists, molecular biologists, and scientists from other disciplines have come together to create a Science of Sleep. Recent developments in this exciting research area will be presented by Dr Raphaelle Winsky-Sommerer, Lecturer in Sleep and Circadian Rhythms at the University of Surrey.
