To connect our students, alumni, and the public directly with prominent and influential industry leaders, the Tourism Society, the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and Surrey Tourism & Events Society are co-hosting the 3rd annual THE Careers Day on 28th March, 2012. The day will comprise of a series of events for the future innovators of the Tourism, Hospitality, and Events sectors.
THE Talk
2:00pm – 3:15pm
Three inspirational veterans will be delivering keynote speeches on various topics in the tourism, hospitality, and events sectors. They will then form a panel with our moderator, Professor Andrew Lockwood, to host a live Question and Answer session with the audience. Reservation required.
- Tourism speaker: Michael Blunt, Vice-President Corporate Affairs, Oneworld
- Hospitality speaker: Charlie Parker, General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire
- Events speaker: Miguel Neves, Events and Projects Planner, IMEX Group
THE Exhibition
3:15pm – 5:15pm
Almost 20 leading corporations and organisations will come to Surrey to provide career information and opportunities to the upcoming stars in THE sectors. You will meet with a range of companies from award-winning local businesses to some of the world’s biggest hotel chains. THE Exhibition is a walk-in careers fair, no reservation required.
THE Reception
5:30pm
An evening reception will be the finale of THE Careers Day 2012. Industry guests and faculty members will meet and network for new opportunities. THE Reception is by invitation only.
