In October Professor David Airey was in Hong Kong teaching at Hong Kong University SPACE. While there he was invited by Professor Song of Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and former full-time professor at Surrey, to visit the PolyU’s brand new ICON Hotel. This was formally opened in September and links the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at PolyU with a state of the art  top class hotel which is designed to provide students with direct experience of the industry as a part of their studies. They were also joined by Professor Witt, professor emeritus at Surrey, and Dr Thomas Bauer of PolyU.
