The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is delighted to report that it has won a EU Enterprise and Industry research grant, in partnership with the University of Oxford and Sustainable Travel International. The €250,000 project is to evaluate the EU programme of measuring sustainable tourism at a destination level through its programme of indicators. Dr Graham Miller will be the project leader, working with experts Dr Murray Simpson and Dr Louise Twining-Ward. Dr Miller said, “I am delighted we were successful with this application. The research team we have assembled is outstanding and brings much experience to this project. We very much look forward to working together, and tackling this important project”. The project will extend over 13 months and conclude with a conference to present the results. A project website will be developed to disseminate the results of the research as they are produced.
