Surrey Hospitality Entrepreneurs Society awarded project by Taylor Shaw

Friday 15 June 2012

Surrey Hospitality Entrepreneurs Society (HES) has been awarded with a contract to carry out research into Further Education and Sixth form students food preferences in England by Taylor Shaw. Taylor Shaw is a contract caterer in the education sector and its parent company, Waterfall Services is ranked 71st on The Sunday Times Fast Track 100. HES were asked to submit a proposal for their methodology of how to carry out the research to Taylor Shaw along with two other Universities. After the directors reviewed the proposals, HES’s student Chairman and Vice-Chairman were invited to Head Office in Warrington to pitch to the Board of Directors. Having convinced the directors overwhelmingly, HES were given the go-ahead with the project.

Not only does the project involve researching college students' food preferences, but analysing the contract catering sector to ascertain how competitive the market actually is and where Taylor Shaw is able to gain significant footholds.

Once the research part has been completed, HES have been invited to construct component parts of a new innovative food service offer based on the research carried out, concluding in June 2012. This practical food service offer will then be put out to tender by Taylor Shaw and perhaps allowing them to climb further up the league table of the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
