Biography

Dr. Emma Wong joined the University of Surrey as a Lecturer in Tourism and Events Management in 2011. She has ten years of part- and full-time experience teaching a range of hospitality and tourism courses, from higher diploma to PhD level. Having worked in universities in Hong Kong, Australia and Germany, Emma has extensive experience teaching students from culturally diverse background. 

Prior to joining the academe, she worked in the Food and Beverage department at Paris Marriott Hotel Champs Elysees, and Front Office at Boston Marriott Copley Place. She has also held a Research and Development Coordinator position in an Australian marketing firm where she helped develop an online, multimedia destination marketing platform.

Research Interests

Emma specializes in tourism policy analysis and formulation. She is currently involved in projects on climate change adaptation in the tourism sector.

Research Collaborations

The climate change adaptation projects are jointly conducted by Victoria University and University of New South Wales in Australia as well as the University of South Pacific in Fiji.
