Biography
Hania received an MSc in Tourism, Development and Policy from the University of Exeter and an MA in Theatre Studies from the University of A. Mickiewicz (Poznan) before pursuing a PhD on the experiences of Polish migrant workers in the UK hospitality industry at Bournemouth University (2009).
Following her doctoral studies, she was appointed Senior Lecturer in Human Resources & Employability in the School of Tourism at Bournemouth University, where she lectured in People & Performance, Event Design & Production as well as Research Methods.
Research Interests
Hania’s research interests include migrant workers: their networks, motivations, learning, skills, careers and adaptation. She is developing research in aesthetic labour and use of social media in HR (employees’ perspectives), the role of EU and tourism, the events sector and HR, and netnography. She is also interested in research relating to the notions of work friendship, work-life balance, status and working conditions in the context of hospitality employment.
