Biography
Jasmine completed her undergraduate degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Surrey in 2001. Upon graduation, she joined Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) as a tutor in the School of Tourism Management. She was then awarded a scholarship by UUM to continue her studies at the University of Queensland, Australia where she graduated in 2004 with a Masters of Business in International Hotel Management. She has seven years teaching experience in UUM and is now pursuing her PhD studies under the sponsorship of the Malaysian Government.

The influence of servicescape design on social interaction and service experience
Research Statement
This research aims to examine the extent to which hostel design influences social interaction among backpackers and how this could lead to the enhancement of the service experience.
