Biography
Marco’s hospitality education began in Germany where he completed his Culinary Apprenticeship and Vocational Culinary Masters. This led him to working his way through the ranks in Michelin-starred restaurants, hotels and cruise ships.
He has completed executive management courses at EHL in Switzerland and at York University in Canada. He also graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an MSc (distinction) in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. Having already spent several years previously working in management positions in the cruise industry with ECS Shipping and Cunard Line, Marco decided to write his dissertation on ‘The Strategic Approach of New Product Development within the Cruise Line Industry’.
Following his Masters, Marco joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and spent the majority of his career working within the group in Hawaii, Hampshire, Vancouver and Dublin as Director of Food and Beverage. During this time Marco was part of the pre- and post-opening teams for the new Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire and also launched the award-winning Yew Restaurant+Bar in Vancouver.
He has since worked as Hotel Manager in London and most recently as Hotel Director with Acromas Shipping.
He is well connected within the industry, working freelance as a consultant specialised in the new restaurant development field.
