The aims of the placement scheme are to enable students to acquire knowledge and experience as it occurs in professional practice; to hone their work skills; and apply their knowledge of business. In return, the students apply their enthusiasm, energy and intellectual skills in ways that will help your organisation achieve its goals.

The facts about the Management Professional Training Placement scheme
- 1-year paid placements, starting anytime during the summer (July to September)
- Online advertising of your placement opportunity to all 2nd year management students
- Competitive, open recruitment process – YOU choose, from willing applicants
- Marks for academic assignment and performance in workplace count for 10% of final degree
- Students have completed two years undergraduate study and a preparatory programme and have good underpinning knowledge of business processes and some specialist skills
- Each individual is supported by an academic tutor during their placement.
- A tripartite agreement is signed between university, student and employer outlining responsibilities of all parties
How to find the right student
Most students start looking for placements in October, but please feel free to contact us at any time as we are aware that industry sectors vary in their planning timetables.
We will be happy to advertise any paid opportunities that meet our scheme requirements to students via our online placement list, so if you feel you have a suitable placement opportunity then please provide us with the following information:
- Link to your company website or information about the company
- A job description and/or job advert
- An overview of your recruitment process and a closing date (if appropriate)
We would also be happy to discuss the arrangement of company presentations and interviews on campus should you require this.
