Savoy Educational Trust

The Savoy Educational Trust (SET) is an independent, grant giving charitable trust, whose main aim is to advance and develop education, training and qualifications within the hospitality industry.

We have been privileged to have been awarded funding from the Trust for a number of years. 

SET Awards 

This academic year, funds are available as bursaries and prizes to support those undergraduate and postgraduate hospitality students most academically (and operationally) gifted. 

In addition, we have also been awarded funding to support hospitality students whilst learning. Those activities supported include field trips to visit hospitality businesses, attendance at the Council for Hospitality Management Education Student Conference, and support for the Food and Wine Society.

Bursaries and prizes are only available to students currently enrolled on:

They are as follows:

  • Two bursaries of £2,000 each to the best performing MSc students
  • Eight bursaries of £1,000 each to the best performing undergraduate students
  • Five prizes of £200 each for the top five Professional Training Reports
  • Two prizes of £500 each for the best MSC dissertations

The Trust also partly funds the research activities of the Savoy Educational Trust Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management, Dr Angela Roper. Angela also oversees the award of bursaries, prizes, and other activities funded by the Trust. Please contact her for further details.

 

Savoy Educational Trust Scholarships and Prize winners

Undergraduate winners: Heiko Maedler, Wa Hei Chu, Isabel Kreye, Yilin Feng, Marc Goodwin, Zheng Guan, Yu ting Hui, Kristina Todorova.  They represented the School of Management at the Annual CHME Student Conference.
