Biography

I joined the department in November 2012 having previously worked for the National Centre for Research Methods at the University of Southampton. I began my career as a political scientist after completing my PhD in the Department of Government, University of Essex, and subsequently worked as a research fellow in the Department of Sociology at the same university.

Research Interests

My research interests span a number of substantive topics including: trust in people and authority; public understanding of science; youth unemployment; British politics; and the use of complementary and alternative medicine. Methodologically, I focus on quantitative and mixed-method approaches with a particular interest in CAQDAS. I am currently a co-investigator on a project exploring trust between patients and GPs.
