Communication Forum
The Communication Research Forum (CRF) is an interdisciplinary research grouping with particular interests in communication theory, political communication and intercultural pragmatics. It is supported by the Philosophy of Communication section of the ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association) and hosted the section's inaugural international conference on 8-9 November 2007. The CRF enjoys strong international links with the Department of Communications, North Carolina State University, and leading members of the Institut fuer Kommunikationswissenschaft, Westfaelische Wilhelms Universitaet, Muenster.
The CRF runs a seminar programme and currently comprises seven PhD students. Its chair is editor of the Peter Lang book series Interdisciplinary Communication Studies.

Landmarks 2007 Theme: 25 years of Universal Pragmatics Facts and Fictions
The Forum is organising this major two-day conference in conjunction with the Philosophy of Communication section of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) on 8-9 November 2007. The keynote speaker was Siegfried J. Schmidt. Post-conference PhD seminar on Political Communication, Translation and the Arab World (12th November 2007).

- Prof. Colin Grant's latest monograph, Post-transcendental Communication. Contexts of Human Autonomy will be published later this year.
- Siegfried J. Schmidt is editing a special issue of the Siegener Periodicum für empirische Literaturwissenschaft devoted to Colin Grant's Uncertainty and Communication. New Theoretical Investigations. International scholars have been invited to discuss Grant's essay "Kommunikation ohne Intersubjektivität".
