Project description
Money management among older people in the modern UK economy.
A qualitative study of money management and budget making by individuals from two age groups, those aged 60 to 75 and those aged 25 to 40 and divided equally by gender. The oldest cohort were reaching maturity during a period of rationing; the 'baby boomers' have only known comparative prosperity. The research focuses on understanding why individuals choose their particular methods of money and budget management; what individuals think, feel and believe when they are deciding how to use their money; as well as what effect age and gender may have on money management.
