Awareness-raising seminars

Based at the University of Surrey or at other venues, these events facilitate the decision to use a specific software. These events are regarded as an initial stage of training - as part of an awareness raising exercise for potential users concerning issues of software use, and main characteristics of different packages.

Software Planning Seminars
These seminars provide an overview of the different types of qualitative analysis software available, with demonstrations of up to five selected packages. They are aimed at helping potential users to make an informed decision as to which software will be most appropriate for their specific needs. This is done in the context of participants' concerns about the planning of software use for research projects so that various 'tools' of qualitative software can be can be discussed from a variety of angles.

Software Development Seminars
Where we can we offer software developers the chance to preview or showcase new or forthcoming sofware. Software developers tend to be very responsive to the needs of researchers. Our aim is to bring users and potential users of software and the developers together at these events to enable discussion and dialogue about real world research issues.
