This course introduces participants to the powerful statistical package, SPSS for Windows, and its use for data management. Participants are shown, through practical exercises, how to create an SPSS data file for simple analysis, how to recode variables, how to create new variables, and how to write simple SPSS syntax. This introductory course does not assume any prior knowledge of SPSS or even statistics and is designed for students, researchers, people working in social research settings or anyone who needs to work with quantitative data or be able to understand simple SPSS output.
