Surrey Tourism and Events Society wants YOU to attend THE Careers Day 2012! The event isn't just 100% organised by students. It's also the biggest tourism job fair on campus in the UK!
Over the last 40 years, the University of Surrey has established a leading global reputation in hospitality and tourism research and education. We are number 1 in all three major league tables and university guides for 2011/2012: The Guardian, The Times and The Independent.
We are number 1 in the UK, number 1 in Europe and 5th in the world for Tourism.
In an effort to connect our students, alumni, and the public directly with prominent and influential industry leaders, the Tourism Society, University of Surrey's School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and Surrey Tourism & Events Society are co-hosting the 3rd annual THE Careers Day on 28th March, 2012. The day will comprise of a series of events for the future innovators of Tourism, Hospitality, and Events sectors:
THE Talks
2:00pm – 3:15pm @ Ground Floor 1 - 2, Austin Pearce Building
Tourism speaker: Michael Blunt, Vice-President Corporate Affairs, oneworld
Hospitality speaker: Charlie Parker, General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire
Events speaker: Miguel Neves, Events and Projects Planner, IMEX Group
Three inspirational veterans will be delivering keynote speeches on various topics in the tourism, hospitality, and events sectors. They will then form a panel with our moderator, Prof. Andrew Lockwood, to have live Q&A discussions with the audience. Reservation required. THE Talks was repeatedly sold-out every year. THE Exhibition
3:15pm – 5:15pm @ Ground Floor 3 - 4, Austin Pearce Building
About 20 leading corporations and organisations will come to Surrey to provide career information and opportunities to the upcoming stars in THE sectors. You will meet with a range of companies from award-winning local businesses to some of the world’s biggest hotel chains. THE Exhibition is a walk-in careers fair, no reservation required.
THE Reception
5:30pm
An evening reception will be the finale of THE Careers Day 2012. Industry guests and faculty members will meet and network for new opportunities. THE Reception is by invitation only.
