Students with a business proposition had five minutes to present their idea to a panel of experts in order to progress to the next round of the Business Enterprise Student Support Scheme (BESSS) competition, where they stand to win £5000 to support their business plan.

Join the National Apprentice Challenge 2015

National Apprentice Challenge is an award-winning enterprise competition for ambitious students.  For two weeks, teams of four students will go through practical business tasks, develop their entrepreneurial mindset and improve their employability skills.  During the competition, students will focus on idea generation, business strategy, product development, pitching, marketing and business planning. In order to offer them a reality-based experience, the students will design & promote a product to a real audience, pitch & receive feedback from real investors and apply their strategic thinking by running a virtual business. 

Inspired by The Apprentice TV Show and Lord You Enterprise for All” Report, NAC aims to empower students to engage with entrepreneurship in a practical way and learn-by-doing.


Crowdfunding Platform goes live at the University of Surrey

Want to raise money for a new idea, activity or a project? University of Surrey's crowdfunding platform enables students, staff, clubs or societies to ask for financial support and investment towards projects and activities from a wide community of supporters – ‘a crowd’.  This is a collaborative initiative between the Alumni and Development Office, the Student Enterprise Team, Student Union and Surrey Business School.

Business Enterprise Student Support Scheme Winter Deadline Set

The Business Enterprise Student Support Scheme (BESSS)  is open to most students currently at University of Surrey.  The scheme can provide up to £5000 funding to progress an initiative to start or develop an entrepreneurial activity.  The deadline for Winter applications is Friday 31 October, 2014.

Creative Talent Comes to the Studio

Studio based on Stag Hill campus is available for any student who wishes to set up a retail enterprise.  The Studio has been used as a retail space for selling candles, cameras, bicycles, clothes arts and crafts as well being a base for hairdressing businesses.  Most recently, the Studio proved to be the ideal venue for budding artistic enterprises and has been successfully used by two inspiring start ups:   ProArté and HauArtsy.

Student Enterprise in conjunction with the Surrey Business School are delighted to announce the availability of two unique opportunities for those interested in studying either the MBA or MSC in Entrepreneurship at the University of Surrey.  Final year undergraduate students from the Surrey Business School can also apply.  These not-to-be-missed opportunities consist of a £3,000 scholarship towards course fees combined with working on a part-time basis to promote enterprise within the University.
