University of Surrey Television was conceived and developed originally some 30 years ago, to serve as an educational resource both for the University and for associated organisations. Since then it has become known within television circles as arguably the finest broadcast standard educational resource of its kind outside London.
In addition to integrating with specialist courses (for example providing comprehensive media training within the EngD postgraduate environmental engineering degree course which is coordinated between our own CES and its equivalent at Brunel), University of Surrey Television is also used currently by the Faculty of Arts , the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the Guildford School of Acting.
Among those of our near neighbours for whom we have provided specialist media training are Nat West Bank, Southern Water, AQA and SSTL (to name but a few) whose managers and directors have benefited tremendously when subsequently interviewed for television, radio and the press.
We have established close professional working relationships with many BBC News readers and reporters who compliment our technical and administrative team to provide first class media training courses.
Also our facilities and expertise will be available to academic staff more generally who may wish to use video to further enhance their teaching or research activities.

So highly thought of are our facilities, that the broadcast equipment giant JVC has seen fit to showcase the University of Surrey television studios with an introductory open day in order for other Broadcast and HE establishments to view its latest HD broadcast control room and studio with its HD cameras and related equipment.
All of the Surrey Television facilities are available on a fully staffed hourly or daily rental basis, or as 'self drive' services. We offer special discounts for short notice 'downtime' bookings and for 'off-peak' bookings, and for extended period and regular use.
