Undergraduate Programmes

The Centre offers two possibilities for undergraduate study:

Study with us for one or two semesters as a visiting student on our flexible modular programme.

Join one of our Language Studies programmes.

 

Modular programme for visiting students
Since 1982, the Centre for Translation Studies has offered a flexible modular programme to undergraduate students from the UK or abroad who wish to further their study of translation, audiovisual translation and interpreting at this level and/or to prepare for one of our masters programmes. You can choose to study for one or two semesters and will gain credits for the modules in which you achieve the appropriate standard. These credits are validated for the European Credit Transfer System.
We especially welcome enquiries from sister institutions wishing to send their students abroad for a period of accredited study, but also welcome individual enquiries.

 

Bachelors programme in Modern Languages with Translation
From September 2005 a translation pathway has been offered as part of the 4-year BA (Hons) Modern Languages with Translation . This new and innovative degree is intended for able students of languages with an interest in translation (including audiovisual translation) and interpreting. The languages are studied to an advanced level and the translation element is ideal preparation for later specialization at postgraduate level prior to entering the translation and interpreting profession.
The languages currently on offer are French, German and Spanish.
