Open Days

Our Open Days will help you make the decision about whether Surrey is right for you. As well as an opportunity gather the information, it's a chance to explore the campus, chat to students and staff, feed the ducks by the lake, and get a feel for the place. You'll soon see why so many applicants come here and feel at home right away.

What happens at our Open Days?

Every department offering undergraduate programmes will be represented in our exhibition area - giving you the opportunity to speak to staff and students about your subject of interest. In addition, subject presentations will deliver more in-depth information about our programmes and departments.

There will also be a range other departments and services in our exhibition - Students' Union, Student Advice, Library and Learning Centre, Additional Learning Support, the Student Recruitment Team, International Relations (for information on exchanges) and Surrey Sports Park.

You will also have the opportunity to find out more general information from our talks covering the application process, student finance, student life, our professional training year and careers.

To complete your picture of life at the University of Surrey, why not join a guided campus tour, have a look at our range of student accommodation, or take our shuttle bus for a tour of Surrey Sports Park.

A few weeks ahead of each open day we will make a timetable available to download. in the meantime, if you have any questions, get in touch with the open days team.

Health and Social Care Open Evening

We are also running a Health and Social Care Open Evening on Wednesday 23 May 2012, where you’ll be able to discover more about our undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes. We will also be having a talk from guest speaker David Sheard from Dementia Care Matters.

Alternative opportunities to visit

Wednesday guided campus tours

Guided campus tours run every Wednesday and are a good opportunity to see the facilities and services that we offer here at the University of Surrey - as well as seeing a student study-bedroom.

Our guided campus tours last approximately one hour and leave from Senate House Reception every Wednesday (apart from days when the University is closed at Christmas and Easter) at 1pm prompt.

To book a place, please fill in the online form.

If you wish to take a campus tour as part of an Open Day, there is no need to book. Campus tours run all day during our Open Days.

Self-guided campus tour

If you are unable join one of our Wednesday guided campus tours, you are very welcome to take a self-guided tour at a time which is convenient for you.

You can pick up the tour notes and a campus map from Senate House Reception, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.

We would suggest you follow the tour between 9am and 5pm when most University facilities will be open for you to see. However, you will not be able to see inside a student study-bedroom on this tour.

Visting an academic department

As part of the application process, candidates being considered for a place are normally invited to a UCAS application visit day by the department concerned. Many departments include a campus tour as part of their day's programme.

Those wishing to visit a department at any other time should contact the Enquiries Team (contact details below) who will put you in touch with the Admissions Team of the relevant department.

I fell in love with campus on my first visit. It is such a beautiful place.
