School of Veterinary Medicine

Our new School of Veterinary Medicine has been created to foster interdisciplinary collaborations to improve human and animal health and to train the global veterinary leaders of the future.

The School will open and take its first cohort of students on the Veterinary Medicine and Science degree programme in autumn 2014, and will feature brand new purpose-built facilities including world-class Clinical Skills Centres, a large pathology facility and teaching, research and diagnostic laboratories (opening 2015). With a forward-thinking approach to veterinary education and strong links with the veterinary profession and world-leading research laboratories, we offer a range of innovative undergraduate and postgraduate taught, research and Continuing Professional Development programmes in the field of Veterinary Medicine and Science.

Our academics are engaged in research that uses biochemical and molecular techniques to investigate important issues relating to animal health and food safety, with a focus on pathology and infectious diseases, and the links between human and animal health.
