HRH The Princess Royal awards MBE to faculty marketing content officer

Susannah Schofield, marketing content officer for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, this week collected her MBE for services to journalism and to diversity in the broadcasting industry from HRH The Princess Royal in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Susie founded the John Schofield Trust in memory of her husband who was killed on 9 August 1995 while reporting on the war in Croatia. John, a BBC reporter with the World Tonight, was 29 years old.

In 1996 John’s family and friends created the John Schofield Trust to help aspiring and early career journalists access and navigate the profession by providing world-class mentoring and training.

Susie said: “It was lovely to be at Buckingham Palace this week with my family to collect this MBE for services to diversity in the journalism industry. To be surrounded by so many people who had made such a difference to society was truly inspiring."
