By becoming a member of the 5GIC, organisations can help shape a world-class centre of excellence in 5G from inception and gain access to world-class academics and researchers, and to our state-of-the-art 5G technology evaluation facility.
There are various membership categories of the 5G Innovation Centre.
|Membership||Entry requirements and commitments||Apply|
This category of membership is designed for Members who wish to play a major role in governance, research direction and technical work.
Members at this tier need to invest £600,000 per annum over five years of which a minimum 50 per cent will be in cash and the rest can be in Benefits in Kind (as determined by the 5GIC)
This category of membership is designed for Members who wish to play a major role in research direction and technical work.
Members at this tier need to invest £200,000 per annum over five years of which a minimum 50 per cent will be in cash and the rest in Benefits In Kind (as determined by the 5GIC)
This category of membership is designed for medium enterprises who wish to have access to and visibility of the results of the Core Research Programme. Members will be able to define specific research projects under the 5GIC programme.
Members at this tier need to invest a minimum of £30,000 per annum over three years in cash and can be allocated to a specific research project or projects in accordance with the University’s research framework.
|Bronze||This category of membership is by invitation only. It is designed for universities, academic and research institutes to participate in the 5GIC programme and non-profit organisations, industry alliances, research councils and government bodies whose involvement will be valuable from regulatory / policy / partnership / skills points of view.||Apply now|
|Small and Medium Enterprise (Technology)||This category of membership is for small enterprises with ideas for innovative new technology that is intended to be part of (or interface with) the wireless networks and/or emerging 5G technology platforms. This membership is part of the 5GIC's SME engagement programme and costs £100 per annum.|
|Small and Medium Enterprise (Applications)||This category of membership is for small enterprises with ideas for innovative new applications and services that exploit the wireless networks and/or emerging new 5G environment i.e. purely over the top use of the 5G testbed. This membership category will not be open for applications until 5G testbed is fully operational and will cost £100 per annum.|
