Back-on-Track

Perhaps your studies are not progressing in the way you had hoped? The Back-on-Track scheme, through discussion with the best experts across the University, gives you suggestions of how you could do things differently and thus move towards success.

The scheme requires you to take ownership of change, whilst we support you through the process.

Are there obstacles to your success?

Facing a re-submission or re-sit of an exam? Disappointed with your mark?

Sometimes things don't always go to plan, and sometimes we can get back to where we want to be on our own. However, on other occasions we might need some advice to help us reach our full potential.

Back-on-Track will enable you to:

  • Identify your obstacles to success
  • Explore options for tackling those obstacles
  • Set developmental actions
  • Change in a way that helps you succeed<

How it works

We will help you to identify obstacles. By being proactive and doing something about these obstacles, you are more likely to succeed. However, you have to be prepared that the change you want may take time to achieve. For most people, Back-on-Track is not a quick fix, but with perseverance and willingness to adapt it can make a difference to your results.

The scheme is available to all students.

Material in the module

You can get involved with Back-on-Track through SurreyLearn and you just need to email academic.skills@surrey.ac.uk to be included in the scheme. Your participation in the scheme is confidential*.

Please don’t feel obliged to engage with the scheme if you have self-referred. We are all different and an alternative approach may work better for you.
